The ADRIATIC GEM
A glittering Adriatic coastline, historic cities and dramatic landscapes make Croatia one of the most exciting destinations in Europe. You’ll discover UNESCO-listed cities, superb seafood and hundreds of exquisite islands on our luxury Croatia holidays. Dubrovnik is a treasure trove of 16th-century architecture, and it’s merely the start. On your luxury holiday in Croatia you’ll be equally impressed by Split’s waterfront Palace of Diocletian where shops, restaurants and apartments are laced through 3rd-century ruins. Head north to Zagreb with its stylish locals, cafes and museums. Savour the Italian flavour of Istria, the Adriatic’s largest peninsula and home to Pula’s Roman amphitheatre.
The Croatian Adriatic is one of Europe’s most compelling seascapes. And it’s something of an island-hopper’s paradise. Split to Dubrovnik is the most popular Croatia island hopping itinerary. Go via Brač, Hvar and Korčula for easiest travel. This is also a good route to see the best of the Dalmatian Coast. Stop off at all the local restaurants, and by the time the sun has nearly set over the Adriatic on a warm summer evening, the restaurant Monte (Croatia’s only Michelin starred restaurant) will have been open for almost three hours below the Cathedral of St. Euphemia in the seaside town of Rovinj, halfway down the country’s Istrian peninsula.
With over 4,000km of coastline between the mainland and hundreds of spectacular islands, one thing is for certain; the beach is where the action’s at. With some of the country’s most attractive cities dotted along, or near, the coast (Split, Dubrovnik and Zadar to name a few) a refreshing plunge into the sparkling Adriatic Sea is a highlight of any trip. From the bustling city beaches of Central Dalmatia to the breathtaking swathes of pebbly sand reaching out into the blue on the island of Brač, plus those dazzling wild coves only discoverable on foot, discover some of the countries best beaches here
