5 best places to visit in 2024
Here are our team’s top picks of the best places to visit in 2024. Where will you go first?
With Christmas and the New Year behind us, it’s time to look ahead. With our expert travel team refreshed and back at their desks, in our eyes, there’s never a better time to start planning your adventures for 2024. Last year, Oliver Bernard Escapes went international and now hosts villas all over the world. Here are our team’s top picks of the best places to visit. Where will you go first?
Kenya
If you’re seeking adventure – top of our list is Kenya. Think spectacular white beaches fringed with palms and enchanting coastal towns steeped in Swahili history. Known as Africa’s most famous and prized wildlife destinations, Kenya remains world-class for safaris, with endless savannahs teaming with game, snow-capped mountains and flamingo-filled lakes. And, if you have any energy left, you can sample the buzzing bars and nightlife of Nairobi. Better yet, our Villa specialist Olivia was born and raised in Kenya, so you can get the best advice on the country with a true local.
St Barth’s
Known for its ultra-luxe vibe and flawless beaches, St Barth’s is known as a playground among the rich and famous. Expect high-end restaurants, designer stores and yachts in a 9.26 square mile island with a peaceful population of around 10,000. Though not easy to reach, with no direct flights, this little piece of paradise in the French West Indies basks in its allure with visitors knowing the treasure awaiting them is worth the multi-step journey. We like to call it, heaven on earth.
Puglia
Authentically charming, Puglia is one of the most rustic yet luxuriously beautiful locations in all of Italy. You’ll find the area slightly less touristy than other popular Italian destinations with a slower-paced way of life but the same scenic coastlines and foodie scene. Some of our favourite Villas on site happen to be in this region, from Salento farmhouses to more modern accommodation, complete with tennis courts and organic vegetable gardens. Head there soon while it remains somewhat of a hidden gem.
France
The perfect hop, skip and a jump away when you want to shake off the English weather with an (idyllic) change of scene is of course, France. Whistle past lavender–filled fields, head to your local boulangerie for a freshly–baked baguette, and enjoy the relaxed culture, sunshine and some of the world’s best wine when you head to any of our villas in the South of France. We love it for being appropriate for couples, individuals and families alike as well as its year-round weather appeal.
Corfu
Located in the Ionian Sea opposite Italy’s heel, Corfu has remained top of our to-visit list year after year. The seaside towns are just as magical and charming as any other Greek island but often less swarmed with day-trippers. Luckily for you, our Villa specialists have a special place in their heart for Corfu, so you can plan with an insider scoop on the best places to visit on the Island.
