Notting Hill is buzzing with fresh energy, as a wave of new restaurants brings everything from fiery Bangkok street food to Parisian elegance and cult-worthy pizza slices. Here are five of the most exciting arrivals transforming the neighbourhood right now.

Alley Cats Pizza

Alley Cats Pizza has brought a taste of Manhattan to Westbourne Grove. Think thin, foldable slices loaded with everything from jalapeño-honey pepperoni to earthy wild mushrooms — all in a room that channels classic Italian-American charm. We’re talking gingham tables and a glowing central oven.

Speedboat Bar

Around the corner, Bangkok’s energy has landed in the form of Speedboat Bar, the new Notting Hill sibling of Luke Farrell’s cult Soho spot. Here, fiery curries and stir-fries are matched by colourful cocktails and a design that nods to an industrial “engine room,” complete with a real speedboat engine. Add shuffleboard and a late-night buzz, and you’ve got one of the most fun nights out in the neighbourhood.

Chez Lui

For something more romantic, Chez Lui offers Paris in miniature. Tucked behind Portobello Road, the bistro takes its cues from Le Marais, with candlelight, crisp linens, and seasonal French small plates. Whether it’s a date night or a long evening with friends, it’s an elegant new spot with plenty of soul.

Slayer

If pizza is your passion, Slayer Pizza is already drawing cult attention on Westbourne Grove. Created by the team behind Eggbreak, the slice shop serves pies swirled with vodka sauce or red pesto, alongside crunchy Caesar salads, gooey cookies, and cocktails. Quick, fun, and full of attitude, it’s the kind of neighbourhood joint destined to become a regular haunt.

Acre

Rounding things off, Acre is the latest project from chef Thomas Straker, who’s reinvented the modern deli just steps from his flagship. Expect chilli cheese smash burgers and Turkish eggs by day, alongside seasonal plates like cod with asparagus or a restorative chicken broth. With its laid-back vibe and chef-driven flair, it’s already a local favourite.
