On the far side of Vourkari Bay, Strofi tou Mimi is one of Kea’s most celebrated seafood restaurants. The bay laps at the tables, which are positioned as close to the sea as possible without actually being in the water. At To Steki, a chef with 35 years of experience invites the visitors of Kea to savor unique Greek and Mediterranean dishes. All plates are prepared with home-grown and locally-sourced produce, in one of Kea’s most beautiful locations.
Sites and Landmarks
Kea is a small island close to Attica, just opposite the port of Lavrion. This is a popular weekend and summer destination for the Athenians and for people who don’t want to travel far from Athens. Its traditional vibes and quiet beaches give visitors many relaxing moments. Ioulida and Vourkari are the most picturesque villages to stroll around in Kea, while nice beaches include Koundouros and Otzias. Hiking is a very frequent activity in Kea, as hiking paths lead to beautiful sites. A short hike from Ioulida leads to the Stone Lion, while a much longer hike leads to the archaeological site of Ancient Karthea.
