The Hidden secret

Leave well-worn tourist spots behind and enter a world of total privacy and seclusion. Featuring a long white stone and pebble beach, Meganisi is the place to go when you want no one else around. Just be warned: facilities and restaurants are few and far between, so be prepared to take your own picnic.

Meganisi Must-do’s

Beaches

The island’s beaches are secluded and unorganized. Some of them can be reached on foot while others can be accessed only by boat. Agios Ioannis, Spilia and Barbarezou are the most popular beaches of Meganisi. Vathy, where the port of Meganisi also lies, is the most picturesque village of the island. Stroll around the beach promenade in Vathy, taste the local delicacies at one of the many fish taverns… Adapt yourself to the slow rhythm of the island!

Eat and drink

Meganisi is a small island with limited tourism, and places to eat and drink are few but still enough to cater for the small number of visitors. Nice restaurants and tavernas are found in the main villages and beaches of Meganisi, such as Spilia, Vathy, Spartohori, and Agios Ioannis. These taverns have traditional dishes mostly made with local products. Night venues are few in Meganisi and are concentrated in Vathy, the capital town of the island.
