Villa Antheia is situated on an 8-acre seafront site, south-facing and commanding inspiring views over the sea, with tantalizing glimpses of the mainland and the other Ionian Islands. The house embodies many of the influences of contemporary semi-tropical living: low-lying, discreetly part of its surroundings, with walls of glass that slide back to merge indoor and outdoor living.

Everything is designed to enable guests to relax completely, with no distraction from the business of pleasure. A formal garden terrace, planted with lawns and trees of several varieties, punctuated with ornamental water features, stretches to a superb viewpoint where a pergola-shaded sitting area affords a perfect spot for nothing more strenuous than contemplation. Elsewhere, several seating areas and outdoor dining arrangements, take full advantage of the space and views.

On the ground floor, a fully-equipped, fully airconditioned open-plan kitchen, dining room, sitting room and study open on to the shaded terrace and swimming pool, fully furnished for outdoor living with comfortable seating, a bar and outside dining area. There is also an outdoor kitchen.

Great attention has been paid to the comfort of the four double bedrooms, one of which can be made up as a twin (this is the room with outside access only!). Three bedrooms are to be found on the ground floor, with a fourth Master bedroom located entirely separately on the upper level of the villa. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and furnished with top quality beds, bed linen and accessories. All have en suite bathrooms (three with showers, one upper master with bath and shower).

Home entertainment is provided in the form of TV in the sitting room and two of the bedrooms (Sky and Internet TV covering UK and international TV channels). There is also a Sonos music system throughout the house, also covering the garden, bar and pool area.

Villa Antheia is entered through ancient gates that were brought from Jaipur, the pink city of India, and are a fitting complement to the rosy-faced stone that appears throughout the property. A beautiful courtyard featuring a living wall of blue-flowered plumbago and a massive teak tree root system displayed as a work of art immediately attract attention and the guest is left in no doubt that Villa Antheia is a most unusual property designed with a great flair for drama.

The pink stone path that leads to the house continues on down the shelving slope, winding, walled, Byzantine-inspired. It gradually gives way to the rock terraces that slide into the sea, shaped by Nature (and with just a little help from Man) into smooth surfaces for lounging lizard-like in the sun, or setting up sun beds and parasols. Swimming from the rocks gives easy access to fairly deep and always refreshing water. A ladder into the sea is thoughtfully provided for those who prefer a gradual descent into the water.

The north east coast is ideal for exploring by boat and they have a small landing platform to make embarkation from the rocks easier. Boats can then be moored on the offshore buoy, a short 15m swim away. No boats are to be moored at the landing platform at any time!

The house is situated in Krouzeri and is a 20 minute walk to Kaminaki and from there a 15 minute coastal walk to Agni where there are 3 great restaurants to choose from. There are boats to hire and lots of water sports in Kaminaki. Kassiopi village is a 20 minute drive away, a lively little resort village with a harbour, an interesting (and still visible) history, and lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Corfu town and the airport is a 45 minute drive away.

The house is supplied with a chef who will provide breakfast and lunch or dinner, 6 days a week and a housekeeper 6 days a week, 5 hrs. a day. We have a concierge with excellent local knowledge, who is on call to help with bookings and advice and to make your stay a great success.
