As this summer’s weather struggles to allow for a daily park run, finding the right gym class for you is crucial for keeping your fitness in check. Luckily, our city knows a thing or two about keeping fit with thousands of classes on offer – the issue is, there’s arguably too much choice. With that in mind, we asked the team at OB Private about their favourite gym classes in London, so you can try something new with confidence and get your sweat on.
1. Barry’s

A global fitness scene mainstay, Barry’s is often top of the list when it comes to recommended gym classes. Not for the faint-hearted, step into Barry’s red room for a hybrid class that mixes HIIT style intervals mastering the combination of running and weights for a full body workout. There are studios in all parts of London, from Soho to St Paul’s, so it’s likely to find one that’s not too far from your doorstep.
2. 1Rebel

London’s leading boutique gym 1Rebel is a hit amongst many Londoners with locations all over the centre of the city. Our Senior Advisor Rosa loves it for reformer Pilates, but you can also enjoy yoga, spin, HIIT and more of their signature classes too – all under one membership. And, if you turn up on Fridays and you’ll receive a free glass of prosecco after your evening class.
3. BuddhaBox

Situated between Green Park and Berkeley Square, BuddhaBox is Mayfair’s leading boxing and fitness facility. Expect a state-of-the-art gym, holistic studio and infrared saunas with high-energy group classes along with one-to-one and group personal training sessions to help drive your progress to the next level. Though boxing is their main game here, you can also try out reformer Pilates, barre, yoga and Muay Thai here too.
4. Barrecore

Combining elements of ballet, yoga and Pilates but with the intensity of a cardio or bootcamp session, Barrecore uses your own body weight and expertly choreographed movements to strengthen and shape your body making you leaner and more flexible. Experience their signature “shake” at 11 studios across London or enjoy the method from the comfort of your own home with their Barrecore On Demand classes.
5. F45

If you spend enough time in London, it’s likely you’ve come across an F45 studio on your travels. Born in Australia, the F stands for functional training, and the workout consists of a mix of circuit and HIIT styles – in other words, it’s entirely sweat-dripping. With 45 unique and systemized workouts, expect to find something that makes you feel challenged while having fun at the same time.
6. Third Space

Kind of liking the sound of them all? Get a membership at Third Space and revel in the benefits of London’s luxury health club, designed to feel like home. Here, you can participate in weight-lifting, conditioning, cycling, and circuit works (to name a few), find the right PT for you, or just make the most of their spa facilities – we won’t judge.
